This bookmark is meant to serve as a quick reference tool while reading. It includes strategies to use when your child gets "stuck" and questions to help both decode and comprehend the text. I have taught most of these strategies on a basic level, but your child will likely need some help to use them. One side of the bookmark is in English and the other is in French. The three questions on the second page correspond to three kinds of strategies: visual information (look), oral information (sound) and meaning (sense), which are colour coded below.
